In a quiet forest, Bear and Wolf lived not far from each other. Bear loved honey more than anything, while Wolf preferred running fast and hunting in the early morning. Despite living nearby, they had never spoken because Wolf thought Bear was too slow, and Bear thought Wolf was too fierce.

Nearby, Wolf was chasing a rabbit. He skidded to a halt when he heard Bear calling for help. Curious, Wolf crept closer and saw Bear trapped. At first, Wolf felt like laughing. "You big, clumsy Bear!" he said. But then he noticed Bear’s worried eyes and remembered how frightened he felt the first time he got lost as a cub.

Wolf smiled shyly. "You’re welcome. I guess I was wrong to think you’re slow. You’re pretty brave." Bear’s face lit up. "And I was wrong to think you’re scary. You’re very kind."

As evening approached, the friends reached a big hill. "Race you to the top!" Wolf shouted, dashing ahead. Bear ran as fast as he could, laughing all the way. When they reached the top, they looked out over the forest glowing in the sunset. It was more beautiful than either of them had imagined.

From that day on, Bear and Wolf became inseparable. They explored new parts of the forest, helped other animals in need, and even shared meals together. Their neighbors were amazed at how kind and cooperative the bear and wolf had become. More importantly, Bear and Wolf learned an important lesson: judging others by first impressions can make you miss out on true friendship.
