In a dense and peaceful forest, a great Lion slept, the powerful animal lying on a soft layer of leaves, its huge head resting on strong paws. Sunlight filtered through the tree canopies and played on its golden mane, while the forest's silence felt completely safe.
At the same time, a small, timid mouse wandered through the forest looking for food. Its quick legs hid it among the grasses, and its tiny eyes carefully peeked in all directions. Suddenly, in its fear and haste to escape an invisible danger, the mouse accidentally ran right across the Lion’s nose.
The Lion, awakened from its nap, roared angrily, and its huge paw came down on the tiny creature, almost crushing it. The mouse froze, but soon squeaked:
“Please, spare me! Let me go, and one day I will surely repay you.”
The Lion looked at the little mouse, smiling to himself. How could a mouse ever help him, the king of the forest? Yet, in his eyes, an unusual gentleness awakened. With a slight nod of his head, he lowered his paw and let the mouse escape.
A few days passed, and the forest was once again alive. Then, as the Lion quietly and carefully prowled in search of prey, he fell into a trap set by a human hunter. Thick ropes and nets restricted his powerful movements, and no matter how hard he tried, he could not free himself. His loud roar echoed through the forest, breaking the silence and frightening all the animals.
The mouse, passing by by chance, recognized the lion’s roar. Without hesitation, it ran to the trap and saw the great king of the forest desperately trying to free himself. The mouse began tirelessly gnawing at the thick rope. Its tiny jaws worked relentlessly until the threads of the rope gave way, and the Lion was finally freed.

The Lion lowered his head and looked at the little mouse with admiration and gratitude.
“My little friend, now I see – even such a tiny mouse can help a lion.”
The mouse smiled and said:
“You see, Mr. Lion, good deeds always come back. It doesn’t matter how big or small you are – kindness and courage always find their way.”
From that day on, the lion and the mouse became unusual but true friends, showing all the animals in the forest that not even the smallest should be underestimated, and that no act of kindness is ever wasted.
