Once upon a time, in a grand castle by a sparkling lake, lived Princess Lila. She wore beautiful dresses and ate the finest cakes, but she felt very lonely. Her parents, the king and queen, were always busy, and there were no children to play with in the castle.
One sunny morning, Princess Lila wandered to the lake’s edge, her golden hair shining in the light. She tossed pebbles into the water and sighed. Suddenly, she heard a soft quacking sound. Looking down, she saw a little brown duck paddling nearby.

The duck quacked again, coming closer. To Lila’s surprise, the duck didn’t swim away. Instead, he hopped onto the grass and tilted his head, watching her carefully.
Lila giggled. "Do you want to play with me?" she asked, feeling hopeful.

Each day, Lila visited the lake. She told the duck all her secrets, sang songs, and made daisy crowns for his head. The duck listened patiently, sometimes quacking as if he understood every word. Lila named him Dandelion, because his fluffy feathers reminded her of the yellow flower.
One afternoon, while playing hide-and-seek, Lila tripped on a root and fell. She scraped her knee and began to cry. Dandelion hurried over, gently nuzzling her with his soft beak. He quacked worriedly and stayed by her side until she stopped crying.

The next day, Lila’s parents noticed her cheerful smile. "You look so happy, Lila!" said the queen. "What changed?"
Lila told them about Dandelion. The king and queen were surprised, for they had never seen her so joyful. "Sometimes," said the queen, "the best friends are found in the most unexpected places."

And so, in the castle by the lake, the princess and her duck friend lived happily ever after, sharing laughter, adventures, and the magic of true friendship.
